| Mexico is no stranger to hockey; a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation since April 1985, the country of more than 129 million people has 14 indoor and one outdoor ice rink, according to IIHF figures. A new indoor rink recently opened in Cancun. Mexico's women's national team is ranked 25th in the world by the IIHF and its men's team is ranked 42nd. The women's team will play in a 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics pre-qualification tournament in December in a pool that includes Poland and South Korea. |

| Vegas Golden Knights Sign Forward Tanner Pearson to Professional Tryout Agreement |
| VEGAS (August 20, 2024) – Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, August 20, that the team has signed forward Tanner Pearson to a professional tryout agreement. Pearson, 32, has spent parts of 11 seasons in the NHL totaling 644 games with the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks, and Montreal Canadiens. The forward appeared in 54 games with the Canadiens last year and recorded 13 points (5 G, 8 A). Prior to his time in Montreal, Pearson spent five seasons in Vancouver and posted a career-high 45 points (21 G, 24 A) during the shortened 2019-20 campaign. The native of Kitchener, Ontario, began his NHL career with the Kings where he totaled 144 |

| Cameron Whitehead has yet to turn pro, but the Vegas Golden Knights goalie prospect has already experienced success in an NHL-like setting. As a freshman at Northeastern University last season, the 21-year-old helped his team win the Beanpot tournament at a packed TD Garden, home of the Boston Bruins. Whitehead earned the Beanpot Eberly Award as the top goalie in the tournament, which also includes Boston College and Harvard University. |
