Vegas Golden Knights   News   Schedule   Roster

Golden Knights' Dadonov-for-Weber Swap Creates Options
For assuming Weber’s deal, Vegas was able to trade Dadonov and his $5 million cap hit after failing to do so in a rejected trade deadline move this past season. That leaves the club roughly $5 million under what is now an $82.5 million salary cap. Though hardly awash in space, this does represent (for a brief moment, anyway) a considerable improvement over the cap crunch they’ve encountered in recent years.

Cassidy and the Kids: How the Golden Knights' new coach should fit wit with several players on the roster
With a new coach comes a new system, and that new system will have a great impact on how the Vegas Golden Knights look next season. On June 16, the team introduced former Boston Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy as its new man, and management has clear expectations for Pete DeBoer’s replacement. GM Kelly McCrimmon is tasking Cassidy with getting the Golden Knights back to the Stanley Cup Final—and ultimately winning it.

Golden Knights sign defenseman Miromanov to 2-year deal
The Golden Knights took care of one of their restricted free agents Tuesday, signing defenseman Daniil Miromanov to a two-year deal, the team announced. The deal carries a cap hit of $762,500. Miromanov, who signed an entry-level deal with Vegas last season after playing two seasons with HK Sochi in the KHL in Russia, played 11 games with the Golden Knights in 2022 but had just one point.

Why did the Stars hire Peter DeBoer? Coach's track record of quick success appealing after playoff appearance
The Stars suffered a frustrating first-round exit this season at the hands of the Flames, leading to Rick Bowness stepping down after just three seasons. Dallas filled its coaching void Tuesday by hiring Peter DeBoer, who was let go by the Golden Knights after Vegas missed the playoffs for the first time in its five-season history. DeBoer has been an NHL head coach since 2008, when he started with the Panthers, and his longest tenure was four and a half years with the Sharks (2015-20).

Try refreshing your browser, or Jack Todd: Good as he was, Shea Weber never connected with Montreal Back to video The absence of the captain of the Montreal Canadiens was statement enough. Never mind that former GM Marc Bergevin had agreed to an arrangement that left the team captain living in Kelowna, a bumbling coach behind the bench and the Habs rudderless — Weber’s no-show told you all you need to know about his attitude toward...

2022 Player Report Card: Alex Tuch
The Buffalo Sabres acquired Alex Tuch, along with Peyton Krebs, as part of the Jack Eichel trade on Nov. 4, 2021. Sports pundits widely questioned the deal at the time, thinking Sabres GM Kevyn Adams waited too long to make it and got too little in return. Krebs was supposed to be the better piece in the trade, but Tuch turned out to be the big new star on the ice.
