Everything old is new again for the Ottawa Senators as team unveils 2D logo
Article content The Ottawa Senators have turned back the clock for their new look. As part of the club’s rebranding, the Senators released their 2D logo Friday and the new jersey plus uniform will be unveiled on the first day of the NHL draft on Oct. 6. Naturally, it’s very similar to the logo the club wore from 1992-to-1997 when it returned to the league.

Sens Unveil New Logo
The long-awaited Ottawa Senators rebrand is finally underway. As first reported by Brandon Plant of SENSTALK last night, the Ottawa Senators have officially revealed their new primary logo, harkening back to that of the mid-90’s, that was phased out in 2007. While strikingly similar to the Sens’ vintage look, the trim on the Senturion’s cape is now gold, rather than red.

GARRIOCH: Coach D.J. Smith doesn't expect the Ottawa Senators to name a captain this season
It kind of reminds me of July 1. There’s so much action going on and it’s an exciting time for us. We certainly want to see where our young kids are going to play here and we’ve got some high-end players that we expect in this year’s draft.

FHM Sens Historical Challenge, Dec. '98: Back and Forth
The CPU plays the games for you, but you craft the team. One of the coolest game modes is the Historical Challenges, wherein you take over as GM of a team at a particular point in their NHL existence, and attempt to relive or rewrite history. For the purposes of this play-through, we’ll be taking over the Ottawa Senators in the Fall of 1996, and attempting to win a Stanley Cup no later than the spring of 2007.

A Case Study on Handling Defence Prospects: Erik Brännström
The Senators have taken a variety of approaches to the development of young defencemen, and today we’ll look at one of the more positive examples in recent history. The best of the league’s defence prospects acquired under the worst of circumstances: Erik Brännström! After being acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights at the 2019 trade deadline, the 15th overall pick in the 2017 NHL draft made a strong first impression on Senators fans at the start of the 2019-20 season, making the team out of tr...

State agencies have been ordered to identify steep budget cuts that can be made if Congress fails to come through with more COVID-19 relief money. At a Chicago news conference, Gov. JB Pritzker said he is ordering state agencies under his control to identify 5% cuts that can be made to the current state spending plan and 10% cuts that can be made to the budget that lawmakers will pass next year.

GARRIOCH: The decision to let Mark Borowiecki go to market will be just one of many changes in Ottawa
Up front, the Senators could use at least one centre, perhaps even a No. pivot because there’s not much depth now at the moment. Right now, the middle of this roster is made up Colin White, Chris Tierney, Artem Anisimov while Matthew Peca was brought in as a UFA to finish out the season, but it should be noted that need may be addressed in the draft.

Cracks of Don: Why would Ottawa not keep Mark Borowiecki? We may never know
I’ll never forget, Detroit was playing Montreal in the playoffs, and I had broken my ankle … and Jack Adams got me and my dad tickets for the game, no charge,” said Killer, who reminded us that Adams coached his uncles — Hec, Wally and Kenny — in Detroit. And that Kenny Kilrea was called up one game to shadow Maurice (Rocket) Richard. Rocket got a hat trick, and the next day uncle Kenny was sent back to Indianapolis,” Kilrea remembered with a laugh.
