The NHL has its first known case of the new coronavirus after an Ottawa Senators player tested positive. The team announced Tuesday that an unidentified player had tested positive for COVID-19. The Senators said the player has mild symptoms and is in isolation, and that other players are being tested under the supervision of medical authorities.

Ottawa Senators — Three more players, plus one unidentified Four more Ottawa Senators personnel tested positive for coronavirus, the organization announced Wednesday. Sens offer use of CTC, other facilities to Ontario government amid pandemic
The Ottawa Senators have offered the Canadian Tire Centre, the building's nine adjacent parking lots, and three other community arenas affiliated with the team to the Ontario government for temporary use during the COVID-19 pandemic. A club spokesperson said Friday that Senators owner Eugene Melnyk approached the province earlier this week and is awaiting a reply.

Starkey Hearing furloughs hundreds, Bill Austin forfeits salary
Starkey Hearing Technologies has furloughed 10 percent of its employees, or about 600 people, and its top executives are forgoing salaries as part of the continued fallout from the global coronavirus pandemic. It's not clear how many of the workers are in Minnesota. Owner and CEO Bill Austin and President Brandon Sawalich are forgoing their salaries, while other executives will take a pay cut during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company said in a statement.

Senators Announce Temporary Layoffs, Employee Furloughs During COVID-19 Pandemic
The Ottawa Senators announced Thursday that the team's "full-time workforce will be reduced" temporarily and that the hours of "some of the staff will be furloughed," per Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: The Senators will be instituting an unemployment plan that will "supplement employment insurance benefits" through July 3 "up to a minimum of 80 percent base salary." Ottawa isn't the only NHL team to lay off workers during the league's hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former MLB player Jim Edmonds, the ex of “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Meghan King Edmonds, confirmed Wednesday he tested positive for both pneumonia and coronavirus. I appreciated everyone who has said well wishes,” the 49-year-old said in an Instagram Story. I did test positive for pneumonia and I did get a test back positive for the virus.
