NJ Veterans Are Victorious In First USA Hockey Warrior Championship |
Veterans from across the United States took part in a national ice hockey championship in North Jersey earlier this month, with New Jersey's Warrior team emerging as champions in their division. The Warrior Hockey Discipline is a USA Hockey program, which is dedicated to bringing injured and disabled veterans together to heal both mentally and physically through the sport. This was the first year the program has held a national championship, and the New Jersey Warriors hosted 33 other teams from around the country, separated across six tiers. |

Arizona Coyotes' move to Utah dashes hopes of NHL return to Hartford |
News of the Arizona Coyotes' relocation plans for Salt Lake City, Utah ended the slim hopes Gov. Ned Lamont and Hartford Whalers fans had bringing an NHL team back to Hartford. ESPN reported that the NHL is moving the Coyotes to Salt Lake City to become a new franchise. Ryan and Ashley Smith of Smith Entertainment Group bought the team and its existing hockey assets for $1.2 billion from Alex Meruelo, ESPN reported. |

Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald says Travis Green is part of his search for a new coach |
General manager Tom Fitzgerald is looking for a new coach for the New Jersey Devils and interim skipper Travis Green remains in the running for the job. Speaking three days after the Devils ended a disappointing season by missing the playoffs, Fitzgerald said he hopes to have a full-time coach in place for the NHL draft in late June. “Travis is well aware of my intentions,” Fitzgerald said Thursday. |

The New York Islanders and visiting Pittsburgh Penguins find themselves with little to nothing on the line in Wednesday's regular-season finale. The Islanders (38-27-16, 92 points) clinched both a playoff spot and third place in the Metropolitan Division on Monday with a 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils. The Penguins (38-31-12, 88 points) kept their playoff hopes alive with a 4-2 victory over the Nashville Predators on Monday but needed Washington to lose to Philadelphia and Detroit to fall to Montreal on Tuesday to avoid elimination. |

Baggie Day Buzz: Hamilton may have played for Devils in Stanley Cup Playoffs |
Dougie Hamilton, who missed the last 62 games of the season following surgery for a torn left pectoral muscle Dec. 1, said he may have been able to return if the Devils had qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Hamilton was injured during the second period of a 5-4 win against the New York Islanders on Nov. 28. Without him, New Jersey was 28th in the NHL at 17.0 percent in 62 games (28-30-4). |

Chris Kreider scored a power-play goal late in the third period and the New York Rangers rallied to beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 on Wednesday night in a game that started with a 10-player brawl. Artemi Panarin and Alexis Lafreniere each had a goal and an assist, and Kaapo Kakko also scored for the NHL-leading Rangers.
