Devils Could Target Bruins' Cap Problems in Trade |
The New Jersey Devils are an organization that likes to find value on the trade market, specifically when it comes to targeting cap-strapped teams. General manager Tom Fitzgerald has done so in the past, most recently by acquiring John Marino from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2023 third-round pick and prospect Ty Smith. Marino was the Devils' best defensive defenseman during the 2022-23 season, so the move paid off. There's no doubt Fitzgerald would like to pull off a similar move this summer if he can, but which team could he look to target? |

Will Patrick Kane be back with the New York Rangers? |
Patrick Kane's brief tenure with the New York Rangers didn't quite go as planned. The former Chicago Blackhawks star winger appeared in 19 regular season games with the Blueshirts, recording five goals and seven assists. While he did average almost a point per game in the postseason, Kane scored only one goal in a seven-game series loss to the New Jersey Devils. Locked on Rangers host Jon Chik proposes a unique scenario wherein Kane signs a one-year deal with the New York Rangers to remain in the one city besides Chicago that he wants to play in and reestablish his value as a high-end winger. |

Devils Must Choose Between Signing Bratt Or Meier |
The New Jersey Devils had a season that no one expected out of them. Now that the dust has settled from their second round exit, the Devils' front office can now focus on the offseason and the decisions they need to make. When they traded for Meier, he did not come with a contract extension. |

"I want to finish my career off here": Hurricanes captain committed to returning |
After the end of last season, there were questions surrounding Carolina Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal and whether or not he'd be giving it another run not only in Carolina but in the NHL. “I'm going to ride out this contract,” Staal had said about the prospects of signing an extension at the end of last season. The Hurricanes captain had a lot of hockey mileage under his belt, especially with being a physical player who plays consistently tough minutes and with his name already etched on the Stanley Cup, it's understandable if hanging the skates up was a consideration. “I don't plan on going anywhere,” Staal said in his end-of-season exit interview. |

5 Goalies Likely Changing Teams During 2023 Offseason |
It has the potential to be very busy across the NHL and more specifically the goaltending landscape could become drastically different. Personally, I see the trade market heating up in a major way as we creep closer to the NHL Entry Draft in June. The New Jersey Devils are set in net with Akira Schmid as the 'goaltender of the future' and Vitek Vanecek as a very capable 1-B backup. This leaves former second-round pick Mackenzie Blackwood the odd man out, and I'm fully expecting an offseason trade to transpire. |

Edmonton Oilers: 10 Right-Shot Free Agent Defencemen to Sign |
The entire Edmonton Oilers organization and its fanbase didn't expect that things would have wrapped up as quickly as they did this season. Despite having the second-best record in the entire NHL since Jan. 1, they failed to make it to the Western Conference Final like they had a season ago, instead falling to the Vegas Golden Knights in Round 2. As disappointing as the result was, this Oilers team seems confident that they are very close to their ultimate goal. It seems general manager Ken Holland agrees, and fully intends on bringing back his entire core for the 2023-24 season. |

Islanders, Rangers heading to MetLife Stadium |
Hockey is heading to MetLife Stadium. The NHL will host a pair of Stadium Series games at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in February 2024, according to Sportsnet. One game will feature the New York Rangers against the New York Islanders, while the New Jersey Devils will host the Philadelphia Flyers in the other. |

Commanders' fans should be excited about Josh Harris |
Josh Harris will be the next owner of the Washington Commanders. Washington fans are excited. The once-proud franchise will finally be rid of Snyder. This isn't another time to comment on all of Snyder's transgressions over the years and how he singlehandedly destroyed a fan base, but instead an opportunity to say Washington fans have found the right guy in Harris. |

Hischier, Siegenthaler and Swiss Team Finish 1st in Group Play |
It will be a first place finish for Nico Hischier, Jonas Siegenthaler, and the Swiss Men's National team after a 4-2 victory over Czechia earlier today. Hischier assisted on the Swiss opening goal by Romain Loeffel at 12:41 of the first period before 39-year-old Andres Ambuhl broke a 1-1 tie and scored two goals in under five minutes in the second period to break open the game. Hischier finished the game with an assist, three shots on net and 18:36 time on ice. Siegenthaler had the second-most ice time for the Swiss playing 19:06. |

Canada loses to Switzerland, US qualifies for quarters at worlds |
Switzerland rallied from a goal behind to top Canada 3-2 in a clash of two undefeated teams at the ice hockey world championship on Saturday. Tyler Toffoli put Canada ahead midway through the second period on a power play but the Swiss answered with goals from Nico Hischier and Dario Simon in the frame. |

Nemec, Slovakia Fall to Kazakhstan at Worlds |
Simon Nemec and the Slovak national team lost for the second time this tournament in a shootout. Nemec was the lone member of the New Jersey Devils in action today at Worlds as Slovakia fell in stunning fashion to Kazakhstan 4-3 in the shootout. Slovakia had 51 shots against Kazakh goaltender Andrey Hutov. |

Rangers scheduled to talk to Toronto assistant, make additional changes to staff in 2023: Report |
General manager Chris Drury isn't done reshaping the new age of New York Rangers hockey – even if it means parting ways with a long-time face in the locker room. New York let go of their head Athletic trainer Jim Ramsay as first reported by Arthur Staple of the Athletic. Ramsay's dismissal is the latest of a series of changes the front office has made after their first-round exit to the New Jersey Devils early in May. Head coach Gerard Gallant and several assistant coaches were all fired a week after their elimination. It appears the Rangers are looking to fill the head coaching position at the very least. |

Carolina Hurricanes ride collective scoring into the East final of the NHL playoffs |
It wasn't long after the Carolina Hurricanes had closed out a second playoff opponent when defenseman Brent Burns began heaping praise on the team's forwards for making it easy for the defensemen to jump into the offense. “Well,” Fast said, “you make it pretty easy for us as well.” The Hurricanes weren't supposed to be able to do this: advancing in the playoffs after a series of injuries hit their forward group to sideline some of their most naturally talented goal-scorers. |

Martinook's sudden surge jolts Hurricanes against Devils in NHL playoffs |
The Carolina Hurricanes have never measured Jordan Martinook’s value solely in goals or assists. Martinook, a grinding force in Carolina's aggressive forecheck, is suddenly finding the net and tallying points at a stunning pace against the New Jersey Devils. Consider it a pleasant surprise for Carolina as it navigates injuries to its forward group and enters Thursday's Game 5 with a chance to clinch a trip to the Eastern Conference final on home ice. |
