Devils hoping Stillman can be 'long-term contributor' for franchise
It took Chase Stillman one season in the American Hockey League to fully understand the player he needs to become at the next level for the New Jersey Devils. “There's a little bit more of my ceiling I think I can hit, and a lot of that just comes with confidence and opportunity,” said the 21-year-old forward, who was selected by the Devils with the No. 29 pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Devils early bold predictions for 2024-25 after active offseason
The New Jersey Devils entered the 2023-24 season with sky-high expectations after finishing third in the National Hockey League the year before and winning a playoff round for the first time since marching all the way to the Stanley Cup Final in 2012. With an excellent young core and a solid veteran supporting cast, there was belief in Newark that this roster could again contend for an NHL championship. Add a couple of other growing pains and it was an intensely disappointing campaign for the Devils, who finished below .500 at 38-39-5 and a full 10 points back of the final wildcard berth in the Eastern Conference.

Devils' Nico Hischier Should Be a Selke Trophy Favorite Next Season
Every year, the Frank J. Selke Trophy is awarded to the NHL forward who possesses exceptional defensive skills. Following the end of the regular season, the Professional Hockey Writers Association determines who will become the top three finalists based on who has the highest number of votes. The Selke Trophy was first awarded in 1977-78 to Bob Gainey of the Montreal Canadiens, and Aleksander Barkov is the most recent winner of the coveted award. For the upcoming 2024-25 season, I think the New Jersey Devils will have a strong Selke contender with their captain, Nico Hischier.

Counting Down the 10 Most Impactful Devils for 2024-25 - No. 10 - Curtis Lazar
The list begins with Curtis Lazar, coming in at #10. An unheralded acquisition at the 2023 Trade Deadline, Curtis Lazar was a steal for the New Jersey Devils. General manager Tom Fitzgerald picked up Lazar in exchange for a future fourth-round pick. Lazar's introduction to New Jersey was difficult; between complications related to his work visa, moving 3000 miles away from his pregnant wife and young son and then suffering a torn MCL, Lazar persevered and contributed to the Devils' comeback victory over the New York Rangers in the first round of the playoffs.

Devils Can Expect More Success With Extra Attacker in 2024-25 - The Hockey Writers New Jersey Devils Latest News, Analysis & More
The vibe inside the New Jersey Devils' locker room was one of pure frustration and disappointment following their lackluster 2023-24 campaign. The Devils gave up a league-worst 27 empty net goals, which was a whopping 25.9% more than any other team (via Natural Stat Trick). A lot of that had to do with a young Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec trying to acclimate themselves to a difficult late-game scenario. Both the Dallas Stars and Los Angeles Kings outscored opponents with their netminder pulled.
