Luke Hughes picked by Devils, joins brother Jack with Jersey
When the New Jersey Devils took Luke Hughes with the fourth pick in the NHL draft, brother Jack jumped up off the couch next to him and was shaking with excitement while giving a big bear hug. Devils Select Chase Stillman with the 29th Overall Pick
He gives it his all on both sides of the ice as well, playing a well-rounded, physical game and being a guy who can help build a culture of winning in New Jersey. Although not being ranked as a first-rounder by most analysts, Stillman has an impressive resume. He played for Esbjerg U20 in Denmark last season, scoring nine goals and 16 points in eight games in 2020-21.

Subban, Will Butcher and Nick Merkley, who were also left exposed, will remain in New Jersey. How do they factor into the Devils’ plans moving forward, if at all?
