Mailbag: Trouba trade rumors with Rangers; coping with travel |
The Dallas Stars have the most travel miles this upcoming season. The Pittsburgh Penguins have the least. Seems they don't travel as much or cross many time zones. The closest team to Stars in the Central Division is the St. Louis Blues at 630 miles. |

NHL'S Dallas Stars Launch Victory+ Free Ad-Supported Streaming Service |
With that branding emphasis already in place, it should come as no surprise that the Stars' newly announced streaming service is called Victory+. On July 8, the team announced a seven-year partnership with Calgary-based A Parent Media Co. Inc. (APMC). The agreement will bring the production of the team's regional broadcasts in house, with games distributed to fans via a free, ad-supported streaming system. |

Minnetian working toward 'finding my identity' for Stars |
After a busy and mostly successful season, Aram Minnetian is ready to begin the next phase of his development after the 19-year-old defenseman was selected by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round (No. 125) of the 2023 NHL Draft. “It was an unbelievable season," Minnetian said during Stars development camp earlier this month. |

Maple Leafs bring in Stars scout Mark Leach to be director of amateur scouting |
The Maple Leafs have hired Mark Leach as the team's director of amateur scouting, filling the vacancy created by Wes Clark's departure to the Pittsburgh Penguins a week ago. Leach spent 11 seasons as a scout with the Dallas Stars, a team that was rebuilt with repeated strong drafts. It's not the number of players who made it to the NHL with the Stars, but the quality of them despite Dallas having just one pick in the top 10 in the last 10 years. |

How Will the Jamie Benn Era End in Dallas? |
Fifteen years ago, on April 10, 2010, a rookie named Jamie Benn quietly closed an era of Dallas Stars hockey. It was Mike Modano and Jere Lehtinen's final game for the franchise, a regular-season game in Minnesota, when the 20-year-old Benn scored in the fourth round of a shootout to secure one final victory for the leaders of the Stars' most successful epoch. It would be disingenuous to characterize that as a breakout moment; Benn tied for third on the team that year with 22 goals. Benn would spend the next two seasons climbing the ranks of the team's scorers before leading the Stars in points in the lockout-shortened 2012-13 campaign. |

The Canadiens Wanted to Win for the Centennial |
Gearing up for the Montreal Canadiens' centennial GM Bob Gainey did a complete overhaul of his team in the hope of getting the elusive 25th Stanley Cup, but one trade was a failure. |
