Kraken add some size, acquire D Jaycob Megna from San Jose
The Seattle Kraken acquired defenseman Jaycob Megna from the San Jose Sharks on Sunday in exchange for a 2023 fourth-round draft pick. Megna is in the midst of his best season with 12 points in 48 games for the Sharks while averaging more than 19 minutes per game. “Jaycob has shown with his play this season that he is a responsible defenseman that can be relied on in all situations,” Seattle general manager Ron Francis said.

Kraken Should Avoid Trading for John Klingberg
The Seattle Kraken haven't been overly active in the rumor mill up to this point, but one player they have been linked to is Anaheim Ducks defenseman, John Klingberg. While he'd be classified as a big swing, his play this season seems to suggest otherwise. Klingberg isn't what he used to be, and while he can still prove valuable in certain situations, he's someone who can hurt a team if they're not careful. Despite being a very useful player for a large portion of his career, Klingberg has found himself struggling mightily this season.

Kraken ticket demand and gameday experience improve, but work remains
A year ago, Normandy Park resident Shane Savery and his buddies were looking to bail on Kraken season-ticket commitments they'd purchased together, complaining that the first-year NHL team was awful and adding that they were barely giving away tickets on nights they couldn't attend games at Climate Pledge Arena. Rebounding after a rocky first season, the Kraken entered this week's All-Star break atop the Pacific Division with a 29-15-5 record and 63 points — two victories and three points more than all of last season. Most online projections give the Kraken at least a 90% chance to reach the playoffs. All 17,151 seats at Climate Pledge Arena are “sold out” for Kraken contests, but season-ticket holders often try to resell their seats online when they can't attend all 41 home games, or to offset their initial expense.

Eeli Tolvanen thriving with Kraken after being cast out in Nashville
A change of scenery from Nashville to Seattle has seemingly unlocked the potential of Kraken left winger Eeli Tolvanen. Tolvanen has scored eight goals with two assists in 15 games with the Kraken after joining the team off waivers in December. "He's just a good hockey player," head coach Dave Hakstol said.

Vince Dunn named NHL's third star for January as breakout year continues
Vince Dunn was projected as one of the top breakout candidates for the Seattle Kraken after being selected in last year's Expansion Draft. After being stuck on the third defensive pairing on a talented St. Louis Blues team that won the Stanley Cup in the 2019-20 season, Dunn would have the chance to play larger minutes and quarterback a power play unit in Seattle. Like much of the optimism surrounding the Kraken's debut season, that rosy outlook for Dunn fell apart. Dunn didn't have a bad season for Seattle.

Kraken Milestones To Watch After 2023 All-Star Break
When the Seattle Kraken return from the All-Star break, not only will they be looking to clinch their first-ever postseason berth, but plenty of players will also be looking to reach individual career milestones. Whether they are for their overall career or time spent just with Seattle, there will be plenty of reasons to celebrate over the final home stretch of the 2022-23 season. Jared McCann, Jordan Eberle, and Yanni Gourde are all closing in on becoming the first players to hit 100 points as a Kraken.

Kraken Can Benefit from Matty Beniers Missing All-Star Game
The NHL All-Star Game will take place in Sunrise, Florida, this weekend without a single member of the Seattle Kraken. An injury to Matty Beniers will keep him from attending the event. Initially, this didn’t sit well with the Kraken fan base, especially considering why Beniers won’t be able to attend.

Kraken Released: Surprising Seattle in thick of NHL playoff race
When Seattle Kraken general manager Ron Francis strolls into the locker room or goes on the road with the team these days, he sees something that was rare during the franchise’s inaugural season: smiles stemming from success on the ice. The All-Star Break has arrived with the Seattle Kraken sitting atop the Pacific Division and looking toward a possible playoff berth. It’s not an easy grind, an 82-game schedule, like we went through last year,” Francis said.
