Player Report Card: Rasmus Asplund
Asplund was recalled several times to the NHL over the course of the season and bounced back and forth between Buffalo & Rochester, and should compete for a full-time roster spot this fall. The 22-year-old started off the season with the AHL’s Amerks. He potted two assists in the season opener, but then went pointless for the next four games.

Top 10 of the 2010s: Goaltenders
Hello again, it’s been a fun week as we conclude the top 10 series with easily the most unpredictable position - the goaltenders. The Sabres went from a perennial top-end backstop, to a second round pick who seemed the next in line, to a serious revolving door in net that amounted to 18 different goalies receiving playing time in the decade. Obviously, these rankings are a little different than the previous ones this week, as weighing the goaltending statistics required a different method.

Sabres' Top 10 of the 2010s: Defensemen
As I’ve previously noted, these rankings are based off a per-60 rate basis, allowing us to compare players with sizable differences in total games played and ice time throughout the decade. I didn’t want to reward or discredit players for their length of time in Buffalo, since that is mostly out of their control. Instead, I felt it was more appropriate to see which player played the best in his time given.

The 2005-06 Sabres
A lot of us are watching these 2005-06 Sabres rebroadcasts during the current disruption. Many of us old enough to remember these games have specific memories of them, the season, and of each player. What has struck me for years about that season is how fond of it I am.

Sabres' Eichel is self-quarantining in Buffalo
Buffalo’s captain said it really sunk in a few days later, “I think when we came back from Montreal on Thursday, I definitely knew the situation was a serious one, but I really think on Saturday when it just started becoming a lot more real about what was going to happen over the next few weeks. Then I think we kind of realized how much we didn’t know about the situation and when that happened, it was my 'come to' moment and just how serious all this is.

Sabres' Eichel is in Buffalo self-quarantining
Eichel would love to play the final 13 games of the season, but that’s not what he’s thinking about, “We really don’t know what tomorrow holds, never mind a month from now, so it’s tough to predict the hockey aspect of life because I don’t think the world knows what’s going to happen in a few weeks, so we’re just focusing at the real issue at hand which is what’s going on in the world with the pandemic.

Trading for Jack Eichel is worth the price and Bill Guerin should consider giving the Buffalo Sabers a call
Playing style similar to Jack Eichel On the roster already the Wild have few players who can play that kind of game. Jordan Greenway is very underrated. He's growing on me.

McCabe knew things weren't going to be good in Montreal
The Sabres defenseman knew once that happened in the NBA, Thursday's game in Montreal would be off, “Once you saw that the NBA got canceled, everyone pretty much figured that there was no way that we’ll be playing that game the next day. I think at that time, San Jose had announced they were playing without fans, so I think you could see the writing on the wall as far as how this was all going to play out and it was only a matter of time.
