For the second-consecutive game, the Buffalo Sabres played in a game where one of the teams scored seven goals. Unlike Thursday at home, the blue and gold were on the wrong end of this decision against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center. The Flyers got started quickly on this afternoon, with a pair of goals just 29-seconds apart to take an early 2-0 edge in the first. First, rookie forward Matvei Michkov led a 2-on-1 chance and took a shot that beat Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen's glove.

Capitals aim to halt modest slide in clash vs. Sabres
The Washington Capitals will look to get back on track after losing their last two games when they host the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday afternoon. Washington (47-16-9, 103 points) dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday and a 4-2 setback to the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. Prior to their two losses, the Capitals had won nine of 10 games. The Capitals hold a game in hand on Winnipeg, which also will play on Sunday afternoon.
