Blue Jays granted exemption to train in Toronto
All 30 Major League Baseball teams will train at their regular-season ballparks for the pandemic-shortened season after the Toronto Blue Jays received a Canadian federal government exemption on Thursday to work out at Rogers Centre. Toronto will move camp from its spring training complex in Dunedin, Florida., where players reported for intake testing. The Blue Jays will create a quarantine environment at Rogers Centre and the adjoining Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel, which overlooks the field.

NHL eyes Canadian hub cities, Olympic return: reports
The National Hockey League favors Toronto and Edmonton as hub cities for its return from a COVID-19 shutdown and in a separate development is planning to send players to the 2022 and 2026 Olympics, according to multiple reports Wednesday. Canada's The Sports Network and ESPN reported that the league wants the two Canadian cities as hosts for Eastern and Western Conference playoff games in its restart plan, which is set to see training camps open on July 10. The NHL had reportedly trimmed its candidates for hub hosts to those two markets plus Chicago and Las Vegas, but spiking COVID-19 poisitive cases have been reported at record levels in the United States in the past week.

NHL has 15 virus workout positives, 11 more outside
A total of 26 National Hockey League players have tested positive for COVID-19 since teams began limited small group workouts at team facilities three weeks ago, the league announced Monday. More than 250 NHL players have reported to club training and practice facilities for optional small group workouts as part of phase two of the NHL's reopening plan, the league said in a statement. The NHL also said it "is aware of 11 additional players who have tested positive for COVID-19 outside of the phase two protocol" in the past three weeks.
